First Vice Presidential Summit commits to upholding democracy. The premier America Without Borders Vice Presidential Summit concluded on Friday, December 10 in the Ecuadorian capital of Quito with a unanimous declaration that commits to maintaining democratic law, along with other provisions. Signed by the vice presidents of Argentina, Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Peru, Venezuela and Ecuador, and by representatives of Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Cuba and Panama, the resolution also pledged to honor United Nations principles as outlined in the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in committing to comprehensive services for the disabled and other vulnerable groups. In addition, the vice presidents and others signatories agreed to a principle of joint action in responding with solidarity to humanitarian crises and natural disasters in the region.
