The Republic of Slovenia lies in the heart of Europe and possesses a magnificent, and tremendously varied landscape above and below ground. It is cradled by the Alps to the north and the Mediterranean towards the south, covered in lush forest above and caves below. The land here is just a conglomeration of all that is beautiful in the world, a story book land.

Some of the most amazing sites can be found in Slovenia. It is known for the Škocjan caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that contain “Cerkvenikov most”,  a natural bridge that rises almost 50 meters into the air, the Postojna Caves, with their “Human Fish”, and it’s capital city, Ljubljana, described as lively and filled with remnants from the last five millennia.

During her 18-country European lecture tour in 1999, in response to the spiritual yearning of the people, Supreme Master Ching Hai accepted an invitation from the blessed country of Slovenia. She later shared her heartfelt thoughts of the people of Slovenia as follows:

Supreme Master Ching Hai: The Slovenian people very pure, I like them very much. It's the first time in Slovenia, but it's made a very good impression.

Disciple: And then suddenly Ljubljana, and when you were there,we were just so happy to feel the holy atmosphere all over the Slovenia.

VOICE: Supreme Master Ching Hai returned to the charming republic in 2007 to personally present the Shining World Leadership Award to then President Drnovšek, for his enlightened guidance of his country as well as world humanitarian affairs.

In February 2008, Supreme Master Ching Hai set aside her busy schedule and traveled to the Slovenian capital, to join the nation in bidding farewell to their beloved second President, Dr. Janez Drnovšek. During her sojourn, Supreme Master Ching Hai met with representatives from the media as wellas charity groups and public officials. While there, she also donated €20,000 in support of the Waldorf School and the Foundation to Help Children.
