On June 22, 2011, the governments of Cameroon and Nigeria launch the Regional Plan for the Conservation of the Nigeria-Cameroon Chimpanzee, calling on conservationists, development partners, researchers and academics to assist in protecting this precious endangered species.

In a June 2011 study published in the Proceedings of the Royal Society B - Biological Sciences journal, Swedish researchers report that red clover yields have diminished along with the decline of certain bumble bee species, suggesting that the ecological balance of species is more vital and delicate than previously understood.
