The European Parliament voted on Wednesday, September 8 to approve a reduction in the number of animals used in laboratory experiments, including a ban on using chimpanzees, gorillas and orangutans. Updating regulations that had been in place since 1986, the new rules also state that non-animal alternatives must be given priority before animal testing, and that scientists must work at reducing levels of pain imposed on animals.

The European Commission has already completely banned testing of animals for cosmetics.
A big bravo European Union for your compassionate decision to offer further protection for the lives of our primate cousins and other animals.

We pray that very soon all such testing will cease as animal co-inhabitants are regarded with only the utmost care and respect worldwide.
