New videoconference between Supreme Master Ching Hai and our Association members in London, the United Kingdom.

Earlier this week, our Association members asked Supreme Master Ching Hai if she could further answer and address their concerns on current issues related to climate change. Supreme Master Ching Hai graciously accepted the invitation. The conversation focused on the spiritual and practical aspects of the animal-free vegetarian diet, as well as specific actions that could be taken by the government and all parts of society, to most effectively avert imminent danger.

Supreme Master Ching Hai : And they have to explain more to people the seriousness of the change that we’re facing right now, the danger that we’re facing, and the worst consequences if we don’t do something, if we don’t follow the vegetarian diet, and we don’t cut out emissions. They could also put high tax on meat or ban it altogether, and educate people into a brand new, exciting way of life.          Give them some other new job to do, and explain to them the benefits of a new life, which is full of health, full of vigor, and peace, love, and happiness. Everyone would look forward to that. At least they will try. And then once they try, they know it works. And if everybody else is trying it, their neighbors trying it, you know, their friends trying it, then there is a supporting energy. And the whole world will change. I can't wait to see that day, when we all enjoy love, contentment, and enlightenment. Live in peace.

VOICE: We thank Supreme Master Ching Hai for her wise and loving insights in addressing the most pressing concern we are facing at this time. We pray that governments, media and citizens all work together to alter the course of our planet for a sustainable future.

Please tune in at a future date for the full conference with multi-language subtitles here on Supreme Master Television.

Arctic ice thaws could lead to accelerated melting of permafrost.

A study recently completed by researchers at the US National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) found that record sea-ice melting last summer extended 1,000 miles inland to permafrost areas typically frozen year round. Since the Artic region is thought to hold about one-third of all the carbon stored in the Earth’s soils, the effect of any widespread melting could be dramatic. NASA’s Claire Parkinson commented on these warming effects, stating, “They could be significant, both on the climate through release of greenhouse gases and on the local communities through damage to roads and buildings as the frozen ground underneath thaws and destabilizes.”

We are grateful for your research, NCAR and NASA scientists, and pray our collective humanity will act quickly to preserve our planet.

Australian rivers on the verge of being non-recoverable.

A report by the Natural Resource Management Board of the South Australian Murray-Darling Basin is warning the Australian government that unless the current drought is brought to an end and large amounts of rainfall are received by this coming October, the Coorong wetlands and southern portions of the Murray and Darling Rivers will be permanently damaged and non-recoverable. Australia’s federal government is now looking to more urgently take action by possibly purchasing water to replenish the river system.

We extend our concern for the recovery of the Coorong wetlands and Murray-Darling Rivers. We pray for Heaven’s blessing of rain and may the Australian government act quickly to help supply the river with much needed water.
