Dr. Gustavo Castro (NFT: PhD) of the Biosciences Institute at Botucatu, São Paulo and colleagues found that minced banana peels remove lead and copper from water.

The researchers stated that the purification apparatus made of the peels could be used up to 11 times and still be effective.

Moreover, Dr. Castro and team discovered that this low cost method was as efficient or actually superior to a number of other purification systems.

What amazing findings, Dr. Gustavo Castro and fellow researchers!
May we see many more such innovative eco practices, combined with the low-emissions vegan diet, for a sustainable and vibrant planet.
