At a workshop on climate change in Ghana, Parliament Speaker Mr. Ebenezer Begyina Sekyi-Hughes spoke of the need for all sectors to join together to inform the public of the vital importance of environmental preservation. He said, “Climate change is arguably the greatest danger facing humanity in the years ahead. Here in Ghana, the year 2007 saw severe drought with cracking lands, followed by massive flooding and destruction of agricultural products and other properties in an unprecedented scale. We cannot, therefore, afford to sit down unconcerned, and it is time we got the citizenry educated about it.”

We are most grateful, Speaker Sekyi-Hughes, for your encouragement of climate change awareness in all levels of Ghanaian society. We wish you and your co-citizens the very best in joining hands to restore the natural balance and verdant beauty of Ghana.
