Videoconference with Supreme Master Ching Hai with Seoul Center, South Korea.

On Saturday, August 9, our Association members in Seoul, South Korea had a precious opportunity to speak with Supreme Master Ching Hai on the various aspects of the present planetary crisis. As in the previous meetings that have been taking place in other centers worldwide, Supreme Master Ching Hai’s encouraging insights provided more real hope for our path to overcome global warming.

Videoconference with Supreme Master Ching Hai
with Seoul Center, South Korea – August 9, 2008

Our Association member (F): Beloved Master, in the last videoconference, Master said that we can reach a critical mass if we try hard for half a year. To reach the critical mass, how much of the population needs to be vegetarian? And when can we reach the critical mass? And once reached, what changes will occur? Thank you, Master.

Supreme Master Ching Hai : Alright. We need to reach the minimum of 900 million people. And we have now 740 million people.

Our Association members: Wow.

Supreme Master Ching Hai : So we need to reach another 160 million people. Do you understand? So it seems like a very realistic number. 160 million people more and we reach the critical mass. You guys work harder; I think we can make it. And I want to thank all of your efforts, and thank people from other groups, the spiritual people, and the animal lovers, and the new vegetarian comers, the government efforts, the media efforts, every individual, every group, we thank them. I thank them from the bottom of my heart. And I hope that we and their efforts will always continue, continue, until we reach the critical mass, and continue after that, to save the planet, and to awaken people’s nobility and higher consciousness.

VOICE: We thank Supreme Master Ching Hai for her tireless work and boundless love that is truly changing our planet’s course for the better. May we all strive together to reach and go beyond the critical mass to save the Earth!

Please tune in to Between Master and Disciples on Supreme Master Television at a later date for the broadcast of this videoconference with Supreme Master Ching Hai, with multi-language subtitles.

Atlantic hurricane season forecast to be stronger this year.

The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has reported increased risk of an above-normal Atlantic hurricane season this year. Predictions now include 7 to 10 hurricanes that will come from 14 to 18 named storms, with 3 to 6 expected to become major hurricanes. A study by the US National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) found that seasonal hurricanes have more than doubled over the past century, a change that is linked to global warming through the increase in tropical Atlantic sea-surface temperatures.

Thank you, NOAA and NCAR, for these timely predictions that give residents in the affected areas better opportunity to prepare as we all strive to mitigate the effects of climate change and ease concerns such as these in all parts of our planet.

Dead zone identified in Chesapeake Bay’s ecosystem.

Local scientists in Maryland, USA have found an oxygen-depleted zone that no longer supports marine life.  Dead zones such as this and others like the very large area growing in the Gulf of Mexico, are created by excess nitrogen and phosphorus coming primarily from waste and fertilizers in agricultural rain runoff.  Their effect becomes compounded when oxygen deprivation leads to the release of toxic hydrogen sulfide gas along with more phosphorus. Dr. William Dennison, a water quality expert at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science, stated, “It marks off whole, big sections of the bay that can't support http://suprememastertv.tv. life.”

Many thanks, Dr. Dennison and colleagues, for this alert about the detrimental effects of human activities in the Chesapeake Bay. Blessed be our world in acting together as responsible and caring stewards of the Earth we all share.

Summer 2008 could see record Arctic ice melt.

Storms over Alaska’s Beaufort Sea last week carried warm streams of air farther north, heating up temperatures and melting Arctic ice to an extent that could render more ice loss in 2008 than 2007. Summer 2007 was the most recent season of record ice loss on the North Pole, with a melt of more than a million square kilometers. Professor Wieslaw Maslowski of the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California whose original computer model predicted complete ice loss by 2013, explained: “…The crucial point is that ice is clearly not building up enough over winter to restore cover and … you get a very clear indication that the Arctic is going to be ice-free in summer in five years. And when that happens, there will be consequences.” He went on to say that the disappearance of ice over the Arctic means that solar radiation would no longer be reflected back into space, and would thus heat the planet even further. Moreover, warming of temperatures at the North Pole would disrupt the climate of the entire Northern hemisphere.

Our appreciation Professor Maslowski and all other concerned scientists for your vigilant observations shared with the public about the dire state of the Arctic. We pray that all are awakened to the urgent need for actions that halt global warming and stabilize our vital planet.
