On Tuesday, April 13, Mexico’s 500-member Chamber of Deputies passed a bill that promotes better food choices and exercise in the country’s primary and secondary schools.
Once passed by the Senate, the measure, which is designed to counter growing rates of obesity, would restrict the sale of junk food at schools while promoting fruits, juices and other healthy options.
Physical education would also be included as a daily activity in the curriculum. Bravo and God bless Your Excellencies for this life-restoring legislation that encourages vitality through exercise and fresh plant-based fare.
Surely such a plan, leading to the exemplary health of the nation’s youth, is a model for countries across the globe.
