Antarctic could lose half of all Emperor penguins.

According to a recent report by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), higher temperatures in the Antarctic brought by global warming are threatening the survival of penguins. Emperor penguins, which are particularly vulnerable because of their habitat’s reliance on sea ice, have already steeply declined in recent decades, with one colony’s population dropping by 50 percent in the past 50 years. Dr Richard Dixon, Director of World Wildlife Fund Scotland, has called on governments to act, saying, “The only way to save these penguins is for the world to get serious about reducing climate change emissions.”

We support your call for action, Dr. Dixon and colleagues of the World Wildlife Fund. Our prayers that world leaders implement measures to lighten our footsteps on the planet for the survival of all species.
