Greenhouse gases from industrialized countries rise after 1990s drop, UN reports

UN reports rise in greenhouse gases emissions. Between 2000 and 2006, the greenhouse gas outputs of 40 industrialized countries rose by 2.3% over 1990 baseline levels, with those of economies-in-transition rising by 7.4% during the same period. This new information from the United Nations comes two weeks ahead of a climate change conference to be held in Poland and highlights the importance of arriving at an effective successor agreement to the expiring Kyoto Protocol.

We express our sincere appreciation United Nations for your dedication to securing worldwide agreement on this urgent matter. Heaven bless all nations to work together in lightening our collective footprint for the protection of life on Earth.

NBC's Today Show Spotlights Global Warming during week long special

US television series raises environmental awareness. The nationally broadcast NBC Today Show began a week-long “TODAY goes to the Ends of the Earth” program to bring more information to the public about the harmful consequences of global warming. The program depicts the travels of four Today anchors who report from the fragile and affected countries of Tanzania, Australia, Iceland, and Belize. Our hearty applause, NBC Today Show and all media members, for this illuminating program to bring greater awareness of our globe’s critical state. May your many viewers be motivated toward effective steps to curb global warming and renew our beautiful planet.

Climate threatens the koala

Koalas challenged by climate change. Australian Dr. Dan Lunney, a senior New South Wales Government scientist says that the already vulnerable koala bears are facing further endangerment due to shrinking habitat through intensified bushfires, rising temperatures and drought. This, in turn, affects the species’ only food source, the eucalyptus, which in some areas is also losing its nutritional value as carbon dioxide levels increase.

a plan that includes planting eucalyptus trees along creek lines of properties to offset global warming and help restore the koala’s numbers. Thank you Dr. Lunney and associates for these alarming facts and your concerned efforts to preserve the unique koalas. May humanity realize the dire need for immediate action to restore the health of all precious wildlife and our planet.

Environmental damage causes further troubles in Kenya.

During this year’s rainy season, 40 people across the nation have perished thus far due to flooding and landslides, and overall 300,000 Kenyans have been affected. The lack of vegetation in many areas and resulting inability of the soil to absorb moisture has contributed to these disastrous conditions.

Dr John Nyangaga, an environmentalist and hydrologist at the University of Nairobi, has also stated that Kenyan rainfall patterns are now accumulated rather than evenly spread out, thus compounding the potential for floods. We pray for a restored balance for our Earth so that Kenyans and all people can live in peace and security. Let us all do our best to protect our environment and be aware of the significance of our every action.

In October, during the videoconference for the Stop Global Warming: Act Now seminar in Thailand, Supreme Master Ching Hai had stated the following:

Videoconference with Supreme Master Ching Hai Stop Global Warming: Act Now seminar Thailand – October 11, 2008

Supreme Master Ching Hai : The law of cause and effect is always very correct. So the only thing we can save ourselves is to be compassionate, to change into a more noble, benevolent lifestyle.

No meat, no animals product, then you can see immediately the weather will change. Everything will return to more peaceful, abundant because Heaven is merciful. And we have to start to be merciful like Heaven, then we can experience Heaven.

There’s no other way we can prevent such a disaster like this. That’s the only thing I can tell you. The way we are doing right now are destructive by all means, physically, mentally, scientifically, morally, which is all wrong. We cause suffering to others; we cannot expect happiness in return. What we have been doing brings us disaster and trouble and maybe mass destruction in the very near future.

So if we want to have a good result, we have to start doing good. Be Veg, Go Green, and do good deed.
