In animal welfare news, scientists discover African elephants to be two species. Researchers from Harvard Medical School and the University of Illinois in the United States and the University of York in the United Kingdom have used genetic analysis to determine that the African forest elephant and savanna elephant are each individual species. Previously, it was believed they were one species. Co-author of the study, Dr. Alfred Roca of the University of Illinois stated that it is important to put a conservation plan in place designed specifically for each species.

Our thankfulness for your significant findings, Dr. Alfred Roca and colleagues. May all intelligent and loving elephant friends be protected to live their God-given lives in safety and joy.
