협회원: ２００４년 북극 기후 보고서는 지구온난화 변화의 속도와 범위에 대해 언급한바 있습니다. 현대 사회는 이렇게 빠른 속도의 지구온난화를 경험한 적이 없습니다. 인류가 대책을 마련하고 행동하게 하려면 또 무엇이 필요할까요？ 자연에서 일어나는 변화의 속도를 어떻게 알아채지 못할 수가 있나요？

칭하이 무상사: 네， 몇 가지 이유가 있어요. 아마 사람들이 너무 바빠 이런 걸 생각하지 못하는 게 첫 번째죠. 두 번째는 정부나 매체 또는 기후를 관찰하여 대중에게 알려주어야 할 사람들로부터 충분한 정보를 얻지 못하기 때문이지요. 또 다른 이유는 업장인데 환상의 마왕은 사람들이 미리 알아채지 못한 상태에서 지구를 멸망시키길 원하기 때문입니다. 만약 사람들이 일찍 깨어나 어떻게 대처해야 할 지를 안다면 아마 지구를 구하고 도덕적 삶을 유지해 세상을 보존할 수 있을 테니까요.

Through Supreme Master Ching Hai’s many discussions on global warming, a clearer understanding has been made possible regarding the urgency and full range of causes of the effects. After meetings held with our Association’s centers in the United Kingdom and the United States, Supreme Master Ching Hai most recently set aside her precious time to further address these and other concerns through a videoconference last Friday with our Association members in Hamburg, Germany.

Our Association member (F): In 2004, the Arctic climate report informed us about the speed and the extent of global climate change. Modern society had never before experienced such an acceleration in global warming. What else could influence mankind into starting countermeasures and to act? How can it be that the rate of changes occurring in nature are happening unnoticed?

Supreme Master Ching Hai: Well, there are several things. Maybe they’re too busy to think about it. Too busy, number one. Number two, they don’t have enough information from the governments, or the media, or whoever in charge of climate observant to notify people.
 
Another reason is the karmic hindrance, that the king of illusion wanted to destroy the planet without letting people be notified in advance or without letting people know about it. Because if people are awakened fast and know how to react, then maybe they can save the planet and continue their virtuous way of life, which contributes to the preservation of the world.
