Expert: Israel faces worst water crisis in 80 years
Israel to endure another dry winter. The Israeli Water Authority reports that the nation is on the verge of the worst drought in 80 years. Although currently the rainy season, it is already apparent that available water will not be able to meet demands in the upcoming months. Thus officials are planning restrictions on both public and private water usage and are considering desalinization along with new wells to increase water supplies. We pray for the blessing of more rainfall to reach all Israeli residents and that our sincere actions to address global warming will soon return a balanced and sustaining climate to our Earth.

In July 2008, at the Climate Change International Conference in West Hollywood, California, USA which brought together green Hollywood celebrities, notable speakers and climate experts, Supreme Master Ching Hai spoke via videoconference on the most effective way to conserve Earth’s natural resources.

Supreme Master Ching Hai: Now we are complaining about shortage of water everywhere on the planet. One serving of beef, we use 1,200 gallons of clean good water. One serving of chicken, 330 gallons of water, clean and good. And one complete vegan meal, including rice or bread or tofu, that is full of protein, and vegetables, it cost only 98 gallons of water. So God has created enough water for us, enough food for us to last even forever, if we but know how to stop abusing the Earth’s resources and her sustenance. Scientifically speaking, meat contributes 80% of global warming and pollution. So if we just throw that piece of meat out of our mind, then the planet will be saved and you will have a longer life and mark my words, you will be a much more happier person.
