China sends delegate to South Korea to calm tensions. On Sunday, November 28, Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo was received by South Korean President Lee Myung-bak, where President Lee conveyed his appreciation for China’s role in striving to maintain peace on the Korean peninsula. Emphasizing the high degree of concern precipitated by the situation with North Korea, the two leaders agreed that both parties should engage in dialogue to preserve peace not only on the Korean Peninsula but for all of Northeast Asia.

Your Excellencies, we are deeply thankful for your commitment to a path of diplomatic resolution. May your efforts be successful in restoring harmonious relations for the benefit of all the gentle-hearted people of the Korean Peninsula, and beyond.
