In world news, Japan pledges to donate approximately US$10 million to Paraguay. Directed through the Japan International Cooperation Agency, the contribution, combined with loans, will help to support rural development in the South American country. Areas to be focused on include agriculture, health, and distribution of safe drinking water. In addition, the funds will be used for projects to enhance the capacity and prosperity of small farmers.
