In animal news, canines in Italy assist in saving lives at sea. Presently, 300 dogs are fully trained as part of the Italian School of Canine Lifeguards in Civitavecchia. These special animal companions help swimmers in need by allowing them to hold on to their harnesses, or a buoy or raft that they are towing. These loyal dogs also bravely jump from helicopters and boats to join in rescuing, and have been credited with saving several individuals. There are a dozen schools for canine lifeguards in Italy, each providing three years of training.

Our heartfelt gratitude, courageous canines; we are so lucky to have such selfless and caring animal friends. We pray that you have many years of joyous living as you continue your immense service to humanity.
