Britain’s National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) has published recommendations on how to prevent diet-related fatalities from conditions such as heart disease that could save the lives of 40,000 Britons every year.

The landmark guidance, commissioned by the nation’s Department of Health, calls for significant reductions in salt and saturated fat as well as the banning of artificial trans fats.
Included in the guidelines are suggestions that include healthy low-salt and low-fat foods being offered less expensively than their unhealthy counterparts as well as a ban on the advertising of unhealthy foods until after 9pm. In addition, planning and zoning laws would restrict the number of fast food outlets, especially near schools, and food policies would pay farmers to provide fresh produce as well as healthier meals being prepared by public sector caterers.

A big bravo, National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence, for your wise recommendations! Blessed be such measures in bringing more fresh, low-fat plant-based fare for the vibrant health and well-being of Britons and citizens across the globe.
