This year’s rising food costs, combined with such factors as crop losses from last year’s floods, are already creating potential shortages in the nation. Further shortfalls in supplies could result from trading partners like China being unable to export rice this year.

We extend our heartfelt prayers, North Korea, for your country’s adequate food provisions. May the industrious North Korean people be graced with ample sustenance, comfort and well being.
