Norway, Germany give the World Bank Carbon Fund $93 million to slow deforestation - 24 Jun 2011

The governments of Norway and Germany announce on June 21, 2011 donations of US$50 million and US$43 million, respectively, to the World Bank Carbon Fund to reimburse countries like Indonesia, Nepal, Democratic Republic of Congo, Mexico and Costa Rica for their successful efforts  in slowing deforestation.

The Times of India reports on June 21, 2011 that the Central Ground Water Authority is warning of significant drops in Delhi's groundwater levels over the past decade, with the city overdrawing 0.20 billion cubic meters yearly beyond what is safely available as it recommends swift restructuring of current use to avoid severe shortages in future.
