Small-scale farmers in Mali, Africa, report concerns about adequate rain to grow their crops this year, as fluctuating precipitation in recent years has brought either too little or too much rain at once, damaging harvests and causing food shortages, which in turn has raised prices.

The Minister of Environment and Forests in Bangladesh announces on Monday the creation of a 300-member group to halt illegal wildlife trade and protect such animals as the endangered royal Bengal Tiger in the Sundarbans mangrove forests.
