Bulgaria’s former leader and poet speaks on vegetarianism. Mr. Edvin Sugarev – Co-founder of Bulgarian Democratic Party, former Ambassador to Mongolia and India, Vegetarian (M): Unless everyone does something to change their consciousness so that we live in a more peaceful and a better balanced Earth, including also the care for the natural resources, I would say that this planet is taking a bad turn. VOICE: In an interview with Supreme Master Television, we asked Mr. Sugarev, who is a vegetarian, to share his thoughts on this diet’s importance today. VOICE: Edvin Sugarev believes, however, that beyond the meat industry is a deeper question to be addressed. Mr. Edvin Sugarev (M): To my mind this is the big problem, not only the meat industry, but the problem is mental, in the human’s way of thinking, and that’s what should be changed. For me the most important is the person’s moral choice: Does he want to be an enemy of all living things on this planet; does he want to conquer everything so as to become a ruler, or does he want to live in harmony with this world respecting all other forms of life? VOICE: We appreciate Mr. Sugarev’s thoughtful comments about the vegetarian diet. May more government leaders and citizens alike awaken to the planet-supporting benefits of this kinder way of life. Dr. Salinger and colleagues at the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research, we deeply appreciate this alarming but vital information on the state of New Zealand’s glaciers. Let us all act quickly to step more lightly and protect our magnificent planet from further effects of global warming. Italy’s bees are disappearing. Mr. Panella and Italy Beekeepers Federation, we thank you for informing the public about this dire situation. We pray that these signs from nature will awaken us to adopting more Earth-sustaining practices to protect the bees and all life. |
